FAQ

Frequently Asked Question

Anchorpoint is an informed intermediary — we sit between your business and the insurance market to make sure you engage the right licensed expertise from the start. We take the time to understand your business, assess your risk profile in plain language, and then connect you with a licensed insurance broker who is genuinely suited to your industry, your scale, and your operating environment. We do not sell or place insurance ourselves. We make sure you start the conversation with the right person.

The insurance market has thousands of brokers with very different areas of expertise. Some specialise in trades and construction. Others focus on professional services, healthcare, or hospitality. Going directly to a broker without knowing whether they genuinely understand your industry is one of the most common reasons businesses end up with coverage that does not fit. Anchor Point's role is to match you with a broker who is specifically suited to your business — reducing the time wasted, the friction involved, and the risk of a poor outcome at the point when you actually need your insurance to perform.

No. Anchorpoint provides general information and facilitates introductions to licensed insurance brokers. We do not hold an Australian Financial Services Licence and we do not provide financial product advice, personal recommendations, or coverage assessments under the Corporations Act 2001. All insurance advice, policy recommendations, and coverage placement are provided by the licensed broker you are introduced to. If you are unsure whether information you have received from us constitutes advice, please ask us directly.

We recommend getting in touch directly to discuss how our service works and any applicable fees or arrangements. What we can tell you is that the cost of starting with the wrong broker — in wasted time, misaligned coverage, and poor claims outcomes — is typically far greater than the cost of getting the introduction right from the beginning.

We work with small and medium-sized businesses across a broad range of industries — from sole operators and micro businesses through to established SMEs with more complex operating structures and risk profiles. The businesses that benefit most from our service are those that have outgrown a generic off-the-shelf policy but are not yet large enough to have dedicated risk management resources in-house.

The licensed broker we introduce you to takes responsibility for providing insurance advice, recommending coverage, and placing your policies. Anchor Point remains available throughout the relationship — we can support communication and coordination during the process, including at renewal and during the claims process if you need clarity or reassurance. Our involvement does not end at the introduction.

The initial clarity conversation typically takes around 30 minutes. From there, the timeline depends on the complexity of your business and coverage needs — some introductions happen within days, others require a more thorough assessment first. What we can tell you is that starting the process properly at the beginning saves significant time compared to discovering a coverage gap or a broker misalignment after the fact.

Yes — and in many cases this is where we add the most value. Many businesses are paying for coverage that does not adequately reflect their current risk profile, their industry, or the scale at which they now operate. If your business has grown, changed, or diversified since your last renewal, it is worth having a conversation about whether your current coverage has kept pace. We can help you understand what questions to ask and whether your existing broker is the right fit for where your business is now.

If you have a concern about Anchorpoint's service, please contact us directly in the first instance and we will do our best to resolve it promptly. If your concern relates to the insurance advice or products provided by a licensed broker we introduced you to, that complaint should be directed to the broker in the first instance. If the matter cannot be resolved, the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) provides a free and independent dispute resolution service. You can contact AFCA at afca.org.au or on 1800 931 678.

Book a clarity conversation with our team — a straightforward 30-minute call by phone or video where we take the time to understand your business before anything else. There is no obligation and no sales pressure. If we can help, we will tell you how. If we think you are already well-served, we will tell you that too.
